Dining!

I was trying to tell Sweetheart yesterday about those delicious donut things that I ate in Hawaii when I was visiting Alika.

Me: "They were called, uh, cassas, or casadas.  Or cass, something.  I can't really remember."

Him: "Um, casadas doesn't really sound very Hawaiian."

Which was true.  So I went home and looked through my pictures to find the name of the damned things.  Because apparently I'm incapable of remembering anything anymore, unless I take a picture of it.  Or tattoo it on my forehead.

Right.  Malasadas.  Which, actually, doesn't sound very Hawaiian either, now that I think about it.  Hmmm...

Oh, yeah.  Right.  They're Portuguese.  I had forgotten that part.  Good thing I took a picture.

Good stuff.

Eye Candy

Palm Beach, Florida

In my world, Hawaii still reigns supreme when it comes to beautiful surfer boys to gaze upon, at least so far.  In California they're still athletic and fun to watch, but the water is so cold that they're always covered up in wetsuits, so you don't get the whole tanned, muscular body viewing experience.  South Florida doesn't have as much serious wave action, but they still had a few cutie pies down there...

Eye Candy

Hawaii, November 2009

Saw these girls on the north shore of Oahu.

Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Very nice.  Mahalo, ladies!

Lau Lau

I really love Hawaiian food culture.  Mainly because there's places like this all over the side of the road.

Last time I was in Hawaii, Lau Lau absolutely stole my heart.  Lau Lau is brilliant in it's simplicity.  You take a big chunk of pork butt and cut it into smaller chunks.  Salt, pepper.  Then grab a chunk, put a piece of fatback on top and wrap the whole thing in taro leaves.  Wrap it in foil and steam that shit.  Unwrap.  Eat.  Enjoy.  We are talking eyes-rolling-back -in your-head good here, people.

Aloha!

Dining on the road to Hana

On the road to Hana in Maui, you will see many beautiful things.

And if you have any sense, you will stop here for some B.B.Q.

There's only one or two tables and if they're full you'll have to sit on your car and eat your food.  But that's fine because that mahi-mahi will still taste damn good.

Eye Candy

This beautiful boy caught me snapping some photos of him in Honolulu.

So he decided to strike a pose for me.  Mahalo, sweetie!

Eye Candy

In Hawaii, the men walk around with their shirts off all the time.  And it's absolutely delightful...

Maui.

Oahu.

More Hawaiian Eye Candy coming soon.  Aloha!

Aloha!

My first day in Oahu was great.  I got lei'd in the car as soon as I got off the plane...

Mahalo!

Then we stopped for lunch:

I haven't seen that smile since July.  Aloha!

Eating is something that Alika and I do very well together.  Especially when we're eating kalua pig, lomi lomi, luau squid, poi, lau lau, Korean shortribs, and haupia...

After lunch, we went to Waimanalo beach.  It's right near Alika's grandmother's house.  He used to spend his summers there, back when he was a little keiki.  Lucky him...

We swam until we lost the sun.  Then we went to a gay bar called Hula's.  The shirtless bartender's body was such a work of art that I forgot to take a picture.  Sorry about that.  I was too busy picking my tongue up off the floor.  He had a beautiful face and personality too, which didn't make things any easier.

I barely remember getting to bed that night.  All I know is that I woke up in my bathing suit and a bed full of sand.  Alika was passed out on the floor next  to the bed.  We haven't seen each other for four months.  I guess some things will never change.  Apparently we still eat AND drink pretty well together!

Aloha!

Aloha!

I was talking to my father today.  He just got to Maui last night with Vernice.  They're going to be there for two weeks.  I was saying how much I missed them.

Papa Ron: "So come to Maui."

Me: "I'm broke!"

Papa Ron: "I'll buy you a ticket."

Me: "Seriously?"

Papa Ron: "Yes! Take my credit number, go online, and buy yourself a fuckin' ticket!"

Me: "How much is too much to spend?"

Papa Ron: "Whatever it takes!"

Me: "Seriously?"

Papa Ron: "Don't go nuts."

I leave Wednesday morning.  I'm staying until November first.  Aloha!
