Tiny little town right on the Rio Paucartambo. I'm unclear on which came first, the town or the river. Beautiful place. Stopped for lunch on the way out to the Amazon. They have a big, Mardi Gras style festival every year in July, Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen. Complete with costumes, parades, and parties in the streets. Need to make it back for that someday...
